Characters

As you might have noticed in the main menu on the left, I have included a section to this website called “Characters”. This category belongs to my own strange, artistic concoctions that probably cannot be compared to any other phantasmal art.

In time and throughout my artistic evolution I discovered a fragment of me that defends itself against category. My pencil became hungry for something other than it’s routine elf and fairy. The inevitable change was certainly welcomed by me and I could finally overcome my dominating preferences. “Characters” is what has become of my love for human features, expression and beautiful oddities.

I have included them in Phantasy Art because they do not correlate to anything we in our world would call “real” – that is unless you personally have recently seen a tea cup grow wings.

The names of my characters do not usually have any specific connotation, they are however words I like the sound of and I take pleasure in matching them up with my pictures. In my mind a complementing word gives them something touchable, something one can relate to when confused by the strange appearance, even if the word itself makes as little sense as the image it is meant to compliment.

These people need not be understood, nor their meaning analysed or questioned. All they ask for is to be looked at in patience, maybe even enjoyed, maybe loved.
